Support TEAMM

Help clinical teams care for patients with miscarriage, wherever they present.

Miscarriage affects roughly 1 in 4 known pregnancies, yet many patients still face long ER waits, referrals, or hours of travel for care that could safely happen close to home. TEAMM changes that by training entire clinical teams, from physicians to front desk staff, to offer all three management options in their own clinics and emergency departments.

Since 2008, TEAMM has trained more than 4,000 health professionals at over 100 clinical sites in 21 states.

Gifts to TEAMM let us bring training to clinical sites at no cost to them. That covers trainer travel, time, hands-on simulation supplies, and months of prep and follow-up support as teams put new services in place. Gifts also keep our clinical resources free and current, and support our annual regional training at UW, open to any clinician or staff member who cares for patients in early pregnancy.

Recent work

  • Rural Washington: trained clinical teams at Pullman Regional Hospital and Whitman Hospital, small rural hospitals in southeast Washington, so patients can get miscarriage care close to home instead of traveling an hour or more

  • Emergency departments nationwide: partnered with emergency medicine and OB/GYN leaders at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the University of New Mexico to bring miscarriage care into their EDs

  • Rural Michigan: trained teams at Upper Peninsula Health System to add procedural services to their options for patients

  • Central America: trained 100 physician, nurse, and midwife leaders in Honduras and Guatemala to practice full scope miscarriage
